The statistics are alarming. Of Americans ages 20 to 64, 26 million of them report suffering from recurrent back pain. Or, put another way, 80% of Americans suffer from back pain during their lives.

However you want to say it, one thing is clear: back pain is not an uncommon problem. Many are suffering from it without relief. So what can you do?

Finding a chiropractor or spine doctor may be one of the best options for you. Local chiropractors can assist with more severe back problems, including Failed Back Syndrome and Lumbar Stenosis. Spine doctors can also provide herniated disc treatment. Herniated discs are among the most common injuries. Herniated discs in the neck and elsewhere on the body put pressure on important nerve roots, resulting in nerve weakness, numbness, and pain.

Another common injury to nerve roots is called a pinched nerve. Pinched nerves, also known as cervical radiculopathy in the medical world, occur in the back, shoulders, and neck, shooting pains up the areas associated with a particular nerve root.

Those suffering from herniated discs, pinched nerves, and other common back injuries and aches know that back pain is no joke.

Back pain is often crippling to those who suffer from it. It can impact our day to day lives and, to top it all off, up to half of working Americans experience back pain every year.

Working in pain is not fun, and chiropractors are one way of relieving some of the most common symptoms of back pain. Many swear by them.

  1. you’re right. i know tons of people with chiropractors and they all seem very happy with their treatments. i’m jealous. i can’t afford one, so i take a lot of ibuprofen and i try not to think about it. i cant say my success rate is too high. 😉

  2. An alternative or even a great supplement to chiropractic treatments is yoga. Yoga stretches the back muscles (and other muscles too!). It continually requires you to work with them and strengthen them. I had crazy back pain until I took up yoga.
